On Saturday 16 June the Tops Ales for Tails joined forces with the Sugar Rush Park to raise funds for some local North Coast animal shelters. The family friendly craft beer & gin music festival was sponsored by Tops Lifestyle & Tops Tiffanys and R30,897.93 was raised by tickets and drinks sales. Festival goers were entertained throughout Saturday by a variety of artists which include Cassandra Fraser, The Name on the Drum, Roarke Anglebright, Mike Wagner and The Lion and the Bear followed by the rugby on a big screen. They were also able to taste a wide selection of alcoholic beverages from Basset Breweries, Distillery 031, Dark Side of the Brew, Nguni Brewing Company, Poison City Brewing, Robsons Real Beer and Seventeen87. Kids bike races kept the little ones busy while parents enjoyed a relaxing day enjoying the festivities.
On Sunday drinks continued to flow in support of the animals at The Holla Sugar Rush Classic fuelled by Landrover Ballito where over 600 riders took part in a variety of mountain bike and trail running races. The organisers and charities would like to thank the public for their support and look forward to making this an annual event. A special mention must go to Mozambik Ballito who donated all the funds raised from their food sales.
